How old are the Wildcat Sysop actually?

As far as I know, there is no work being done to update it. I'm 74 and have been using
it since the late 80's. It has some good qualities and that is why I sill run it today.

I am 61 ran it for a few years in the 90's, when I got back into BBS' in 2018 first thing I did was try to get my WC5 updated, and get the Internet Connectivity Pack that was free I believe in 96 right after I took my board down. I contacted Hector and was told in no uncertain terms only way I could update was to pay $200 for the update server to get me to the latest version 8? I believe. When I asked what it would would take to get up the 16 line upgrade or for that matter the 8 line upgrade I was told another $300 to $400, at that point I said thanks but no thanks.. I would have my WC5 online right now if I could get the Networks working properly. Platinum Xpress from back then only works with modems, I could use a TCPSER type of program to use it but then it would not be compatible with BinkD.. I have a VM with Win2K and WC5 installed on it, just playing with it here and there. One of these days I will find the ICP package and install it and run my 2 line version and stick it to Hector.. LOL I'm sorry for being down on the software, but I own 3.9 DOS, and WC5 and anything I want for it has to be paid at 1996 prices.. Good luck with that Hector..

I have WC4 online and use Qfront for WC to toss the mail. I do not know
if it will work with WC5.

I use net2bbs to make it telnet ready

I know most systems use BINKP for transport, but if you want to use your TCPser and serial, then I can help you with an EMSI/Zmodem connection.

I'm playing with my 1990's ezycom BBS in a VM with Portal of Power (which is what I used back in the day), and I have it working well...

To be honest, I really don't want to use TCPSER at this point.. I am using it with my C64 Image boards and Having some issues with it crashing etc. Mainly from bots.. I am going to look into Rubens QFront and net2bbs idea then decide if I am going to run 3.9 (which was gifted to me from my user group) or try to get it running with WC5. I will definitely keep you in mind..
