I have been doing website design and hosting for more years than I can count, but had
never done any for published authors.
I received a long-distance call from a friend of a friend that knew I liked designing
websites. The customer has written several books of poetry and needed a website. He
doesn't own a computer and is dependent on his daughter when she comes to visit him
to get me updates for the site, so it isn't going too quickly.
Then, last week I got call from a neighbor who is having a book published and she needs
a website. That's 2 sites for publishers in less than a week! Her site is fairly complete
and can be found at:

The site uses CSS that defines the layout and the color scheme. By changing one line of
the CSS style sheet, I was able to come up with a color that she liked.
It's much easier to design a site when the client can meet with you than to do a Zoom
meeting whenever the daughter has some free time. Joan specifically wanted the site
exactly the way it was done. She and I both got instant gratification as we tweaked the
template.
I don't make much money doing this for friends, but it is something I love to do.
