• Maybe a Bug in iRex?

From Mike Dippel@9:467/19 to ALL on Monday, May 02, 2022 11:32:02
I set up my Fido feed to use iRex and configured the Filebox folder to read 'Fido' in both
iRex and PX. Although packets were being sent from the hub, they never reached my
system. I edited the folder to 'Fidonet' and the packets were imported.

Is there a minimum amount of characters that are required for the folder to be? Perhaps 4
characters for the folder area is not adequate?

Also, after I was finally able to get the inbound packets, they all went to the BAD ->
UNSECURE folder of PX. I don't have an Encryption password set. Could that be the
reason? All of my other networks use the Encryption password and they all work fine.

I feel like I am almost there.

Fileboxes are for outbound messages only, FYI. I use fileboxes in IREX and PX/WINS without any issues. Do you have your filebox directory setting in the "FTP Export Directory" set to match the filebox directory setting in Internet Rex?

... As I said before, I never repeat myself

Yes, they are the same. For some reason, the 4 character name of 'Fido' didn't work,
but the 7 character name of 'Fidonet' did. I figured there may be a requirement to use a
certain minimum amount of characters. Anyway, it is working now.
