iRex stopped working last Friday morning after I hatched out the files at 12:05
AM. I
couldn't get daemon to load no matter what I did.
After upgrading t version 2.31 and still not having it working, I noticed that
daemon
stopped immediately after trying to do a rescan.
My solution: delete all of the waiting tics and packets in pxw inbound and outbound.
Voila. iRex daemon started working again.
To test it, I did an areafix from my node 2 at mystic-hobbies.com for a rescan,
and the
packets came in.
Not sure if anyone else has ever experienced this or not. Perhaps this will help you in
the future.

Hi Mike
Did you used the Update-Tool (Update.com) incl. in this package?
Do you run the registered Version of IRex?

Since my configuration was corrupted, I did everything from scratch. I unzipped the file
into a new directory and had to re-enter the info for every node. I didn't have to run the
update.com and yes it is the registered version up to 50 nodes.

Use the REGISTER.CAN to register it. You must mail a check to him to register.
He
doesn't accept PayPal.

Hi Mike
My problem is, that I cannot reach Charles via EMail...
Tried all known EMail-Adresses which he wrotes in all Register.zip and BMT Micro
gave me. Also here in Fidonet... tried three or four different EMail-Addresses
without any responses.
So I cannot send money to a address, which possible no longer exists?
You understand? It is not the problem with the 25 bucks, it is a problem that
he get the money. And gave me any responses.

That's a shame. When I had trouble with the program, he responded quickly to
me and
pointed me to the newest version on his website. I didn't have to register it
since it
used the same keys that the previous version did, but he is still alive and should send
you the unlock codes once he receives your check.
Just follow his directions, and you should be good to go.
On March 29th, he sent me this reply via email:
"I need the sysop name you want the registration issued for (this will need to
match
what's configured in Rex), the type of registration you're looking for (50 nodes or 1000,
server version or not), and appropriate payment for that registration.
You can send a cheque by mail if you like, or a money order if you want more security
on what you're sending."
Hope this helps.

Hi Mike
Got an other problem to update it.
I'm running a Windows 64bit here. So I cannot run the Update.com.
Result.... IRex opens short and close it immediately.
Maybe I use the Archive and Update.com on a 32bit Machine and copy it back an
the 64bit Server?
