I used to be semi-pro (weekend warr
ior). Played in the same band for 3
    0
years. Lots more before that. Been
    playing guitar for 60 years.

Been playing 25ish years here and have been playing in the same band about 15 of those years. Bass player here.

Performed on stage for decades in various Big Bands and symphonic bands.

Ran a small ensemble doing community-promotion gigs for about ten years as well.

As the Covid Lockdown debacle paused all of that, I'd pivoted towards early music and folk. Currently woodshedding to bring myself up to public performance levels.

I play but nowhere near the level to be in a band. I just don't have time to sit down and learn songs to the level and proficiency needed.

I think that depends on what you prioritize. If you really wanted to play some music and learn, you could re-allocate some time you'd normally spend on your BBS to doing music. So I'm not sure it's that you just don't have time.

Well, I am a music composer and arranger myself. I made some tracker music, which you can find on The ModArchive, aswell as SoundCloud and YouTube.

Genres range from electronic synthwave to rave/dance to chiptune. However I like to try out new things that stay on the melodic side.

Nothing like playing in a band... it was the time of my life. The most
fun I have ever had. And I played with my friends which makes it even

Yeah I never played professionally or anything, or was even any good, but
many years ago my friends and I set up our instruments in my garage and
would play a bunch. Our drummer was FREAKING AMAZING. I'm talking Rush
level greatness. I would start playing some random guitar riff, and he'd
come in with the perfect drum line behind me ... holy shit. Not sure I
could describe that feeling. It's like I'm an anime character in some
exciting scene and vertical lines are flying up all around me.
