I can't say how amazed I'm by various Metal/Hard Rock artists that come from Asia and Middle East recently.

After discovering the Hu I kept searching and on my list are also:
    - Bloodywood - Indian band with powerful combination of metal and Indian rhythmics
    - Nini Music - Taiwanese artist that combines metal with chinese elements!

Do you know any interesting non-western bands that contribute to this music genre as well?

Probably not what you are thinking about, but The Black Mages have some metallized versions of Final Fantasy music tracks and the results are very good. The original FF music composer was with them. I think they have three official albums.

From what I've heard, FF is pretty focused on music so it makes sense.
